This land was settled by the Ancient Chumash Indians spanning more than 10,000 years ago. It is from their word "Awhai" meaning "moon" that the name Ojai is derived. Also known as the Valley of the Moon.

They believed that the valley holds mystical powers and that a magnification of energy exists exuding a peaceful sacredness that can be felt. This energy that first drew the Chumash to the valley has been celebrated through the years and many believe today that Ojai is a ‘vortex’ - an unseen force that concentrates energy. Whether you believe in this energy or not- there is something about the Ojai Valley that cannot be described - but can be felt - and the only way to explain it, is to experience it for yourself.

We will immerse for 4 days surrounded by beauty honoring the Fall Equinox and the changing of the season on September 22. Be prepared to receive clarity and experience transformation as we explore nature, sit in sacred ceremony, and immerse into a cha dao tea ritual. We will practice yoga, sacred movement, hiking, sound alchemy, and enjoy nourishing foods. We will adventure to the beloved hot springs which are pure magic. Nurture yourself with bodywork and healing modalities to deepen the experience.

Jenny Emblom Castro

Curator and Host

A resident of Ojai, California and founder of Attune, Jenny is committed to the path of elevating consciousness in the world. Jenny holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy with a Depth Psychological approach. She also earned a Master's degree in Spiritual Psychology with a concentration in Consciousness, Health & Healing from the University of Santa Monica. She is a KRI certified Kundalini teacher. Jenny integrates elements of intuition, transpersonal, mindfulness, neuroscience, depth psychology, attachment and trauma-informed care into her work. Her intention is to support the client to remember their innate wisdom, get to the root of their suffering and reclaim wholeness within.

Amber Lee

Healing Bodywork + Reiki

Amber was born of mixed ancestry rooted in the Andes and in the Hawaiian Islands. Raised between South America, Hawai’i, and different cities throughout North America, she grew up with an intimate knowledge of how people and places are in relation. Early childhood experiences attuned her to the spirit of healing and inspired her path forward in the world. As an Esalen Massage Practitioner & Reiki Master, Amber skillfully brings science and spirit together for healing. As a Healing Arts Practitioner, Teacher, and Council Facilitator, her mission is to generate wellbeing and connection on a universal level, in a beautiful and accessible way.

Ameya Cohen

Priestess, Ritualist and Founder of Woman Rising Mystery School

Over the last two decades, Ameya Cohen has been using her extensive training in the Mystical Arts of Shamanic Studies, Flower Essences, Moon Wisdom, and her Priestess Path to guide and support women to remember and reclaim themselves, and awaken the grace of the Great Mystery that resides within.

All of her programs are steeped in both mystical and practical wisdom to support women to thrive in their lives and their activism. Ameya is best known for the sacred space she holds, the sisterhood communities she creates, and the compassionate sharing of wisdom that passes back through the ages.

Erin Rose Ward strives to find out what it means to thrive and how to help others to do the same. Conscious movement, breath, and meditation have evolved as her primary access points to personal freedom as well as what she offers to the world. Inspired by the infinite healing capacity of ancient wisdom practices, Erin lives and serves as a 750hr RYT yoga, ecstatic dance, meditation, breathwork, and spiritual fitness teacher with a mission to be a conduit for big love in the world.

Monica Demetry

Naturalist Guide

Passionate about ethnobotany & entomology, Monica gained her experience through her studies, professional experience and leading educational programs for the Ojai community. With a B.S. in Environmental Science and Resource Management from CSU Chanel Islands, she contributed to research on the endemic and rare Torrey pines species on Santa Rosa Island. She gained her knowledge as a naturalist while working for the National Parks Service, California State Parks and a non profit Ventura Land Trust. She has lead many educational programs teaching youth about local flora and fauna and is cherished in the Ojai community by many families that have been supportive of her naturalist journey. She is now a full time Park Ranger and protects what she loves most.
